‘The Battle for Haditha’ is based on a true story about the deaths of twenty-four men, women and children in a town called Hadita in Iraq in 2005. The deaths of the twenty-four people have been attributed to the actions of four US marines led by Cpl. Ramirez (Elliot Ruiz) who lashed out in anger at the death of another marine Pfc. Cuthbert (Jase Willette) who was killed by a roadside incendiary device. The story follows the actions of the marines of Kilo Company before during and after the attacks, an Iraqi family, and those who were alleged to have planted to incendiary device.
