When Oliver Zinck (Jay Baruchel) and his brother Jackie Whynacht (Sergio Di Zio) come to attend their estranged father’s funeral, to everyone’s surprise, Oliver inherits his father’s funeral home. Henry Sanipass (Graham Greene) the handyman tells Oliver that the funeral home is almost bankrupt. That night Oliver takes a drive with the enchanting mortician Roberta Knickel (Rose Byrne) and accidentally kills a hiker. Roberta manages to pass off the fatality as an accident. This brings business to Oliver’s funeral home. This incident gives the two the impetuous to start off a killing spree, some accidental and some intentional. The funeral home stays in business with increasing number of baffling and brutal accidents taking place, while they manage to stay out of jail. Oliver tries to stay clear of the law. Roberta’s father, the Police Chief Knickle (Nigel Bennet) and her boyfriend Constable Charlie Richmond are catching up. Oliver is caught between his love for Roberta and his step mother Luanne. He gets a little too over confident as his business and love life both start doing well. Finally justice catches up with him and he digs a grave for himself.
