Benifallet is a small but thriving village nestled in the stunningly beautiful mountains of Catalonia, with the waters of the Ebro on its doorstep. So if you’re tired of mass tourism, if you’re trying to escape the usual tourist traps, then you are probably ready for Benifallet! Though, if you decide you want some serious sightseeing or shopping then Barcelona is less than two hours north, Valencia is two hours south, or just 50 minutes away is the major tourist centre of Salou.

Ebro River Fishing, canoeing, kayaking,birdwatching, mountain hiking, cycling, horseriding, jet-skiing, wine tours, painting courses, Spanish Civil War sites…The list is endless and most of the activities are available in the village itself, or if not, a short drive away. For beach lovers, our closest is the aptly named Cristal Platja, 30 minutes away, with its crystal clear waters washing onto a long sandy expanse of beach and which remains largely undiscovered by tourists.

Local fiestas are part of living here, whether you live here all year round or “live” here for a week, you’re sure to find something happening, if not in Benifallet, then in one of the nearby villages, and you will love the lively celebrations usually topped off with fireworks.
